Our Sustainability Mission Statement

At ANM, we are committed to integrating sustainability into our business operations. We recognize the responsibility we have in shaping a future that is not just digitally sound but also environmentally balanced.

Our mission is to provide innovative and efficient technological solutions while reducing our carbon footprint and promoting elements of sustainability. We intend to harness the power of technology to drive change that respects and protects our planet.

We vow to adopt and promote sustainable practices such as energy conservation, efficient utilization of resources, and waste reduction in our own operations as well as to advise our clients on technology solutions that are environmentally friendly. We believe by merging technology with sustainable practices, we can create a cleaner, greener, and more inclusive future.

Our Environmental Sustainability Goals

ANM is committed to the following company-level goals to support the reduction of Scope 1, 2 and/or 3 emissions.

2024 Goals

  • As part of ANM’s dedication to environmental sustainability, we are committed to lowering our energy consumption. To achieve this, we will install motion-detection light switches in all office spaces and conference rooms at our main regional locations, namely Albuquerque, NM; Denver, CO; and Scottsdale, AZ. The installation process will be completed by December 31, 2024. To gauge the efficiency and impact of this initiative, we will conduct a quarterly comparison of energy usage for these locations, using the energy data from 2023 and 2024 as the baseline. This will commence once the motion-sensor switch installation is fully accomplished. ANM estimates that this will save 10% on electricity usage in calendar year 2025 (measured from January through December 2025). We estimate this will save ANM 73,500 kWh of energy over the course of 2025 and per calculations using the EPA Power Profiler¹ this will result in an annual reduction of 70,472 pounds of CO2 emissions for that year.
  • To significantly decrease our company’s carbon emissions and contribute to environmental sustainability, we aim to promote and encourage remote meetings and working from home for our employees located in our primary regional locations. ANM maintains office space in Albuquerque, NM; Denver, CO; and Scottsdale, AZ with the expectation that office space is primarily used for in-person customer meetings if needed. ANM provides video-conferencing licenses and equipment to all employees by default. Average time in the office for employees within a 20-mile radius of an office has been reduced from 5 to 1 day per week compared to pre-COVID rates (since 2020).
ANM will support and encourage a 1 day per week average for in-office attendance for calendar year 2024 for client-facing teams like Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Project Management. Administrating, back-end, and support personnel will be allowed to continue to work 100% remotely. This will result in at most 50% of employees working in office 1 day a week. ANM will evaluate the effectiveness of this strategy at the end of 2024 and re-evaluate for 2025. We estimate² that this will reduce the carbon footprint for daily commutes to these offices by 372 metric tons in 2024 (compared to emissions if 5-day per week return-to-office policy were mandated). This represents an 89% reduction of carbon emissions compared to a mandated back-to-office strategy.

ANM Green Initiatives

ANM takes recycling very seriously and embeds environmental sustainability in our supply chain and logistics. ANM’s green initiatives are looked at as a best practice to ensure recycling, eco-friendly packaging, and sustainability is integrated into every aspect of our supply chain. When ANM is deploying hardware, all equipment is unboxed, tested, and prepared for shipment directly through our local facilities. During this process all packaging materials are recycled from our local providers. We then prepare all shipments using reusable materials and nothing is left onsite other than the solution.

² Carbon footprint estimates are based on the following assumptions. Move to remote work reduces time in-office from 5 days per week to 1 day per week on average, and reduces in-office attendance from 90% to 50% on those days. ANM has 75 employees in Denver metro area, and 32 employees in Phoenix metro area. Estimated daily round-trip commute to office in these areas is 25 miles per day. ANM has 80 employees in Albuquerque metro area with an estimated daily round-trip commute to office is of miles. Calculations are based on EPA estimate of 19.6 pounds of carbon emissions per gallon, and average of 19 MPG during commutes.

Based on these assumptions – 5 days/week in office at 90% attendance rate would equal 419 metric tons of carbon emissions annually. 1 day/week at 50% attendance rate equals 47 metric tons annually, for a per-year savings of 372 metric tons of CO2 emissions.
